Horror film ‘IT’ made the world record in the first three days of Rs 1150 crore.
Talking about Indian films, Bahubali 2 and Dangal have gained popularity worldwide. Bahubali 2 earned 1800 crores, Dangal earned 2000 crores. But if we say that a movie has earned more than 1000 crore in just 3 days then we are talking about Hollywood film ‘It’. This is a horror film which is getting hit all over the world. This film is based on the horror writer Stephen King’s novel. The film has earned 1150 crore collections at the worldwide box office in just 3 days.
Nonetheless, you need to have some knowledge about this film which is ruling the box office worldwide. Let it be said, it is it is considered to be the most horror movie till date. It is also the most earning horror movie ever.
It, the new horror movie based on Stephen King’s novel, broke records in its opening weekend worldwide. The film made $180 million in its first three days of release, which is Rs 1150 crore. In India, the film has made Rs 11 crore in the first four days.
According to a statement released by Warner Bros Pictures India, the film earned Rs 11.35 crore till Monday. In the opening weekend, the film’s collections stood at Rs 9.7 crore.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the results, and congratulate New Line Cinema, director Andy Muschietti and his phenomenal cast and crew on this fantastic opening,” Denzil Dias, Vice President and Managing Director, Warner Bros Pictures India, said in a statement (via Firstpost).
BREAKS THE RECORD ON THE FIRST DAY
It breaks the record by earning 326.2 crores on its very first day. Earlier the record of making bumper collections at the box office on the first day was made by The Conjuring in 2013. It earned 262.2 crore collection.
FILM DOES NOT END HERE!
The film is made in two parts. The first part got released on September 8 whereas the second part is scheduled to release in 2019.
IT’ WAS CEASED TO RELEASE EARLIER
Earlier the film was ceased to release based on the concept it was made. One can gues how horrific it could be! The Film Certification Board denied releasing this film without doing any cuts.
The film broke the record for the biggest opening weekend haul for a horror film, and for the biggest September opening, besting the previous record-holders (Paranormal Activity 3 and Hotel Transylvania 2 respectively).
The film was riding on a wave of positive reviews and great word of mouth. It stands at an 86% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
It tells the story of a group of kids living in Derry, Maine, who are haunted by a murderous clown named Pennywise.
It’s box office performance was better than the Bollywood competition. Daddy, the Arjun Rampal gangster film made Rs 5.25 crore and Shreyas Talpade’s directorial debut, Poster Boys, starring Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, made Rs 8.5 crore in the first four days.
STORY OF THE FILM
The story of the film starts from a city named Derry. Where a dreaded predator exists. Name of this predator is ‘It’. The ‘It’ seen in the dress of a clown hunt children of the city.
The interesting part of the ‘It’ is that the things made by him are only visible to children. Elders cannot feel them. It is exciting to see how horrified group of children fight ghostly joker.
